Human Anatomy from Scratch: About the Course
These are free video lessons on anatomy for 1st–2nd year medical students and those starting to learn anatomy from scratch. The course includes 27 video lessons, totaling about 7 hours of video. Each lesson comes with a text summary: it's convenient to review before a credit test without re-watching the lecture.
The course does not replace an atlas and textbook. It explains the topics where students most frequently get stuck: vertebrae and carpal bones, canals of the temporal bone, tributaries of the portal and inferior vena cava, and pelvic dimensions. Latin terms are provided alongside English ones.
What's in the course
- Osteology: all bones in 60 minutes, structure of a vertebra, carpal bones with mnemonics
- Angiology: aorta and its branches, portal vein, inferior vena cava, external carotid artery
- Internal organs: heart anatomy in 20 minutes, kidney anatomy, bronchial tree, gallbladder and ducts
- Head and pelvis: canals of the temporal bone, greater and lesser pelvis, pelvic dimensions
Where to start: if you are just beginning anatomy — start with the lesson on all bones and the structure of a vertebra. Before an angiology colloquium — with the overview of the aorta and its branches.
Frequently asked questions
Can you learn anatomy from videos?
Videos help understand the logic: where a vessel comes from, what it supplies with blood, how a bone is structured. Memorization still requires repetition — which is why summaries are attached to the lessons.
Is the course suitable for exam preparation?
As a review of difficult topics — yes. The free course does not cover the entire syllabus: these are 27 video lessons focused on topics where students lose points most often.
